Thank you so much for your interest in adopting with us! Below, you will find detailed information about our adoption process and fees. We are thrilled to guide you through this exciting journey of welcoming a new member to your family.
The adoption process
APPLICATION FORM
The first stage of the adoption process is our application form. We encourage you to provide as much information as possible when filling out the form so that we can ensure we match you with the perfect dog.
INITIAL CONTACT
When you submit the application form, one of our friendly admins will get in touch with you to guide you through the rest of the adoption process. Please keep in mind that our rescue is run by volunteers who will be assisting you around their own jobs and families, so we kindly ask for your patience.
HOME CHECK
Home checks provide us with the opportunity to meet you and ensure that we are rehoming our dogs to the most suitable home. These home checks are conducted virtually unless you live near one of our admin team members who will conduct the home check in person. We also require proof of address and a form of photo I.D.
APPLICATION/HOME CHECK REVIEW
The information from your application form and home check results are considered along with your chosen dog's needs to ensure you are suitably matched. Please remember that our dogs have never lived in a home environment and won't be trained in any way, including toilet training.
ADOPTION FEE AND TRANSPORT
Once the deposit has been paid and the rescuers have confirmed that your new dog is ready for travel, we will book them on the Happy Bus. Depending on your dog's readiness, the entire process can take approximately 4-8 weeks. We require full payment 2 weeks before your dog travels; failure to do so will result in the cancellation of your dog's travel, and your deposit will not be refunded. Once your dog is ready for transport, they will board the HAPPY BUS to the UK. The journey can take up to three days, and in most cases, your new friend will arrive right at your doorstep. If you are on the Isle of Wight, we will arrange for you to meet your new dog in Portsmouth or Southampton.
How much does it cost?
Our adoption fee for dogs in North Macedonia is £600. This fee covers their travel to the UK, vaccinations, microchipping, blood and disease testing, as well as all required paperwork and passport.
UK Dog Adoptions
Sometimes, these sweethearts travel all the way from North Macedonia to start new lives here in the UK. While we always hope for the best, occasionally things don't work out in their initial homes for various reasons. When this happens, these dogs become available for adoption again, and we want to find them their perfect forever homes. Our adoption fees for UK-based dogs are £350. It's tough when a placement doesn't work, but we're committed to finding the right match for each dog.
